I’ve moved 😀 and I would love you to come over to my new blog site http://www.rocalsrascals.com/ to check out this weeks and continue the journey around the Bloom Fab 15 blog circle.

Its week 16, where is the year going, welcome to this week of the Bloom Fab 15. We are a group of photographers who get together each week to explore a new theme through our images. We all met at the Bloom Forum a must go site for photographers.

This weeks theme is ‘Paper’  and after finding a wonderful paper map of the world I decided this would be my prop to inspire this weeks shot. Unfortunately things did not go to plan, so unhappy with the image I had Saturday evening, I decided a change of shoot was necessary. The plan was paper planes flying with a beautiful blue sky beyond. Well after a day of grey sky and rain I decided to stick with my 1st shot.  So here is ‘Paper’…….. (The map is there somewhere and the weird fluffy hairdo is actually a hat, he is in his favourite Davy Crocket outfit with racoon skin (fake) hat).

On a positive note I tried out a new buy from Vol25, a new set of fabulous blog frames,I love them.

With the theme of “Growth/Grow’ I headed outside for a shot of some bulbs the boys and I planted the other day, with the express purpose of watching them grow.

With the theme of “Reflections’ I was picturing all sorts of beautiful water images with reflections shimmering within, that is until I found myself deep in reflection. It is school holidays here and the boys were promised a trip to the zoo, so off we headed on the 2 hour trip. A trip full of thoughts, as my mind jumped around all the changes we have faced and are facing. But it was not until Rory somehow crashed his face into a metal bar and broke his brand new front tooth and I was taken back to my own childhood and breaking my front tooth that it became clear what this weeks image should be. I so hope he is not faced with the same dental nightmare that i was, I could not eat with my front teeth as the temporary tip they used would fall off. My broken tooth caused me many tears and I hope the same wont be for Rory now.

I did not think a week could get more rushed. I thought today would be a day to myself and a chance to work on an imagine but instead I was on the run all day. So my apologies for the last minute images. Some flowers from the garden, where Depth of Field can make an ugly background almost pretty.

Another crazy week and I am stunned to say it is already week 12 of Blooms ‘Fab 15’. A group of photographers sharing a common theme each week. This weeks theme was ‘Hands’. When I first considered this theme my thoughts centered on contrasting hands, old and young, big and small. But after a trip to the dentist with my oldest (a 2 hour drive just to get there and a lot of $ latter) a new idea emerged.

Dave offered to get a gold fish for our tank as a treat for Rory for being so brave, but instead emerged from the pet shop with 2 little chicks. I just about died, for years I hassled for chickens and was told ‘no, too much mess, too much hassle’. Yet now we are in a smaller place, with a small yard, he comes through with the chickens. So my shot this week is Cal my youngest sharing a chicken, the newest member of our family. Its fluffy little body gently resting in his hands, the hands that constantly are sharing their finds and discoveries with me.

Week 11 already of Blooms Fab 15. A group of photographers sharing a common theme each week. This weeks theme was morning. Unfortunatly no lovely morning light to play with, I either left for work before the sun came up, or had grey cloudy mornings to deal with. So this morning I needed to get a shot before a big day at work (it ended up being a 12hr day so I am probably jibbering), fortunately my boys presented me with a subject. Though it does not scream morning, it was part of my morning and something I could share with them before heading off to work. Hopefully it does not have them thinking its nearly Christmas.

Week 10 of a group Project 52 introduces the theme “Alone/Quiet”. The Project sees 15 photographers join once a week to explore a new theme. This weeks theme seemed right down my alley. The last 7 months have seen lots of change in my families life, most significantly the break up of my 16 year relationship with the boys father. SO “alone” seems very fitting right now. The last 7 months have seen us sell the family home, move and at the end of the month the boys father move to the other side of the country. So here goes for my interpretation of Alone….

How is it that the weeks are going so fast yet I am getting so little done? Feel like I am running up hill backwards.

Okay to the point. Its week 9 of a Project 52 that I am doing with some wonderful photographers from The Bloom forum. Each week we explore a new theme, this weeks theme is ‘old’. I think maybe a photo of myself would have been appropriate tonight but instead I opted for a quick shot of Rorys latest find (a creature he found for ‘sharing/show and tell’). Why old? Because when we researched scorpians one of the things we found that they have been around for 250 million odd years, and in my book that makes them old.

After another busy week I am back for this weeks theme of “Connection/Embrace”. For anyone yet to see past posts this is part of a Project 52 with some wonderful photographers from other at the Bloom Forum. Each week we explore a new theme and it is great fun to travel the blog circle and see the different interpretations.

This week was another last minute dash were I had to try and push the boys to pose, they gave me a whole 2 minutes and were still for only a few seconds. There skin is sun kissed from a day down the beach and hoping that sleep is not far off.
